The world is in a recession and it is hitting everyone’s pockets in one way or another. Even if you feel like you are the only one, know that there are many many families, couples and single people struggling financially. Losing your job, taking a pay cut or losing your house are all realities for many families. This can lead to a lot of stress due to the economy. Many families who had to sell their house and move into an apartment might bicker and argue with each other. Children may not do well in school and may act out or get lower grades. Here are some ways to deal with stress during the recession.

Dealing With Stress During The Recession

Talk To Somebody – The best way to deal with stress is to talk to a counselor, therapist or social worker. Simply stating how you feel will help you deal with the loss of the life you once had.

You Need To Vent – If you don’t let out your feelings they will be displaced onto the people you love in an angry manner. Find a safe place like your car, for example, and just let it out by crying or talking to yourself or just thinking about the situation. These moments will help you stay grounded and help you move on.

Focus on Being a Family – the best thing you can do for your family is to focus on being a family by eating dinner every night, talking to each other and doing things that are free together. For example, bike riding, going for a walk, going to the library are all great things to do together.

Find a Support Group – It might be a good idea to find a support group in your area. It can be your neighbor or some co-workers. Just knowing that others are going through the same hardship really helps you deal with your situation.

Stress after stress after stress occurs and you feel like you can’t wind down. Believe it or not but there are some sure fire ways to de-stress while you are stressing out! Here are 3 tips to de-stress on the go.

Tips To De-Stress

Take A Stretch – A really effective way to loosen up those tense muscles is to stretch our your back and neck. Roll your head in circles. Rotate your arms and stand up. Doing this periodically through out your day will leave you less stressed and more productive.

Avoid Coffee In The Afternoon – I know this may seem impossible, but consuming caffeine in the afternoon will only agitate you more and cause headaches and more stress. Drink caffeine in the morning if you must and tea in the afternoon.

Eat! – Many people skip breakfast or lunch. This is a huge no-no! Having a full stomach will release pleasure chemicals and will combat stress. Make sure to eat a well-balanced meal that includes protein, carbs and fruit.
